Women remain underrepresented in key decision-making roles across almost all industries in Zimbabwe.Zimbabwe is not making progress on many aspects of gender equality, female representation in leadership and this continues to be a cause for concern.
Women are underrepresented at leadership and management levels in Zimbabwe workplaces. Progress towards gender equality is making baby steps.President Manyara Irene Muyenziwa is pushing harder to ensure women are equally represented. It is now time to give women important roles in our societies.
Women must lead and when women lead, results are for all to see.We have people like Mitchell Obama who are an inspiration to many women.
They played important roles as far as women leadership is concerned. Mitchell Obama has always held a high level of self-respect and respect for others, seen through her use of words such as decency, integrity, dignity and pride in her speeches.
This also explains why women are important in our politics and leadership. Like President Manyara Irene Muyenziwa, she recognizes and respects the different opinions of all people. We have Theresa May whose leadership witnessed resilience and robustness.
She has been open to advice and consultation from her colleagues and aides. She has been willing to listen and face up to her critics, a trait which President Muyenziwa has since she joined politics.
Resilience is a vital characteristic for leaders of any kind and one that can be maintained simply.
